Post Graduate Diploma in Agri Input Management (PGDAIM)

Programme

The PGDAIM is a one year programme depicting industry-institute interface directed towards the growth of the agribusiness sector and at the same time addresses the employment problem in relation to the agricultural graduates. The programme is conducted in collaboration with a progressive agribusiness organization, which assures placement to the participants.

Course Curriculum

The course curriculum will be offered in two semesters in an academic year based on courses related to the core areas of Agri Input Management. During Semester-I the courses offered to the students will be mainly dealing with the theoretical aspects of agri input management where mostly the staff of SKRAU will be involved while in Semester-II the courses will mainly comprise the practical aspects to give an exposure to the prevailing situation in the field which is necessary for the students who intend taking up agri input marketing as a career.

During Semester-II, the students will be required to register for the above 04 courses in which the main emphasis will be on practical training and exposure to business environment by way of interaction with staff of DAL and other business organisations. Out of nearly 5? months duration of the semester, 2? months towards class room teaching with active participation of the staff of DAL and 3 months will be devoted to practical/commercial training/field work. During training period, the candidates will be given the designation of Management Trainee and a stipend of 6000 plus other allowances.
All successful students will be provided minimum compensation package (CTC) of 2 lac per annum. (Likely to be revised)

Eligibility

Indian nationals below 30 years having bachelor’s degree in agriculture and allied subjects from any Agricultural University or institution as recognized by the ICAR with a minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) are eligible to apply for the PGDAIM programme. Final year graduating students expecting to complete their degree requirement before the due date and obtaining the minimum prescribed percentage of marks may also apply.

Admission Procedure

The admission to the programme will be done as per the eligibility criteria set up by the institute. Candidates aspiring to join the programme will be required to submit the application form online as per the under mentioned schedule. The hard copy of online submitted application form, along with demand draft of 1000/- payable at any nationalized bank in Bikaner, be forwarded to Director, Institute of Agri Business Management, S K Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner – 334006.
Admission cannot be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right. Bikaner Court alone shall have jurisdiction to determine all disputes pertaining to interpretation of provisions under eligibility criteria.

No. of Seats

The number of seats shall be 15.

Reservation

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Female candidates/Kashimiri Migrants will be as per the reservation policy applicable.

Candidates from States of other than Rajasthan

A candidate falling in either of the following categories will be considered in ‘Other State Category’:
A candidate who is a permanent resident of any state other than Rajasthan since birth, or A candidate whose permanent address is outside the Rajasthan State, unless he submits a domicile certificate of Rajasthan at the time of Group Discussion/Personal Interview, or A candidate who completed his qualifying examination from outside the Rajasthan State, unless he submits domicile certificate from Rajasthan at the time of Group Discussion/Personal Interview.

Verification of Antecedents

At the time of Group Discussion and Personal Interview, each candidate will be required to submit a character certificate from the Head of the Institution (Registrar/Dean/Principal/Director of the University/College/ Institute) last attended, certifying the following points among others.
That the applicant has not taken part in any activity subversive of the rules, regulations and discipline of the institution, and That the applicant has never used unfair means in any examination conducted by the institution.
All candidates selected for admission will be required to produce medical and physical fitness certificate at the time of registration.

Ragging

In order to curb the menace of ragging in institutions offering higher education, the UGC has prepared Regulations which had been approved by the Commission in its meeting on June 4, 2009 and the same have been circulated to all universities established or incorporated by or under a Central Act / Provincial Act or State / UT Act and all institutions deemed to be universities under Section (3) of UGC Act, 1956. Ragging is totally banned in the institute and considering it as a criminal offence, strict disciplinary action will be taken against students indulging in ragging. Students admitted in the institute along with their parents / guardians will be required to submit an affidavit as per the UGC guidelines.
